Happy Monday everyone! This week we are excited to introduce Ruth Rosendaul one of our ambassadors and her adorable horse Kaloosh!
Where are you from:
I am from Louisville Ky!
Favorite Horse show:
My favorite show to compete at has to be Tryon!!
Tell us a little about your horse:
My horses name is Kaloosh (haha Kalooshie) hes one heck of a horse! I have trained him by myself! He’s a dark Bay with very poppy dabbles! Ohh and Kaloosh is well known as the “over jumper” And We currently compete at novice but training move up soon!!
How did you find out about Ellany Equestrian:
I learned about Ellany Equestrian by my explore page and I was like wow I really like this idea and so did my mom as well! And then she had an ambassador search and then BAM!
What is your favorite Ellany Equestrian Product:
My favorite Ellany Equestrian product is everything! That’s one of those cheesy things everyone says but man if I could get everything I would be the happiest person in the world! But if your looking from her for your first item I suggest a belt!
How did you get into riding:
I got into horses when I was 7 of course I loved the My Little Ponies and had ziplock bags full of them! My grandma was going on a missionary trip and meet this lady that had a horse barn 10 mine away! Then they started talking and the next week I got to sit up on this palomino horse named Sunny! I cried when I left and then I cried some more! My mom then realized my love for horses and took me to the camps at that barn! I learned a lot there and meet good friends I STILL know today! When I left those camps I cried again oh and I remember because my mom felt bad she got me ice cream and then said, “Ruth we know your love for horses and we will let you go to another camp!” I was so happy but then the day later I heard that my sisters which are allergic to horses and know really nothing about them were working the camp...that camp was the time I WAS A HELPER! I was like one of those girls that thought she ran the place! Haha but it was amazing and I did many of those camps for a long time! And then grew with my love of horse and then got Into pony club!
What is your favorite phase:
My favorite phase of eventing as to be stadium. I am not the girl that’s says the x-c is their favorite because honestly it’s my horses favorite! I love Stadium because I get to get my horse all clean and I get to braid! I love to pamper Kaloosh and make him look good! I really also enjoy it because of the colorful and creative jumps and usually your striding I’m really good! It’s just so much fun and I have no idea why!!
What is your biggest riding accomplishment:
My biggest riding accomplishment would have to be AECS. I may of fallen off. Yes no one has seen the fall but Kaloosh went to a ditch and acted like he was gonna go. There was a hill and I turned him right he lost his balance and missed me by an inch. I was devastated and was so upset because I was sitting in 7 and was on time. I went my next show and not only was I in first my watch then suddenly turned off and was saying 1:55 and then would go up and down so I circled 6 times and realized I got 12 time.....well yes that sounds pretty bad but let me tell you those shows were a highlight of my life and I will never forget that! With that being said my inspiration to keep going has been McLain Ward and Lillie Keenan because they are not only amazing but they have been just were I have been in all my situations to get to the top!
