This week we have the honor of getting to know Emily Howser (aka @_emilyhowser_ on Instagram)!
Where are you from?
I'm was born and raised in Louisville, KY!
What is your favorite show to compete at?
My favorite horse show is the Arabian and Half-Arabian Sport Horse Nationals in Raleigh, NC. They environment is so friendly and the fellow competitors and so genuine!
Tell us about your horses and what you show them in:
I have an Arabian/Fresian cross mare named SRC Laurel Bay ("Lolly"). She is 11 years old and we primarily compete in dressage at Second level and then we also dabble in eventing to switch it up every once in a while!
I also have a 21 year old Arabian named Hisho. Hisho and I competed up to third level dressage, hunt seat equitation, hunter pleasure, and showmanship on a national level. We acquired countless top tens and 9 reserve national champions together. Hisho now is leased by a 75 year old woman teaching her the ropes of dressage.
How did you learn about Ellany?
I learned about Ellany on instagram and fell in love with all of their products!
What is your favorite Ellany product?
I'm in love with Ellany's half pads. They new gel memory foam they use adds so much comfort to my horse's back!
How did you get into horses?
As a kid I never could find a sport that I enjoyed and stuck with. As a six year old a family friend told my mom we should try horse back riding. After one lesson at Stonehurst Riding Center I fell in love with riding and the Arabian breed!
What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show definitely is Grey's Anatomy by far! I have watched all of the seasons two or three times and stay up to date on new ones! Though I was heartbroken when Patrick Dempsey left, I still love the show!
What is your favorite eventing phase?
Against popular belief my favorite phase is dressage. I've always been an avid dressage fan and love the connection and harmony you have with your horse. Of course the jumping phases are fun but I'm super partial to the dressage ring!
Who is your riding inspiration?
Ever since I was a kid I've always looked up to Stephen Peters in my riding. Stephen is such a fluid and correct rider and even though he is not competing as frequently right now, he is still my favorite.
